PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINING IN YOUR HOME OR MINE
I am a dog lover first, and a dog trainer second. I know from first-hand experience the difference dog training makes in the relationship between a dog and their people. Let's face it., we don't know what we don't know and sometimes, without professional training, it can sometimes be a frustrating relationship. If this sounds like you, let me help show you how to make that transformation from frustration to partnership.
My involvement in dog training began around 2004 when I was considering adding a dog to our family. I had a 9 year old son at the time, and I did hours of research on breed types, temperaments, and general requirements and I finally decided on a Rhodesian Ridgeback. I searched for a reputable breeder and after months of searching and more months of waiting, the new member of our family was finally ready to come home!
I'd always loved animals of all kinds (and, of course, still do), but when I met Oscar, I absolutely fell in love. I wanted to do the best for him and for my son. I knew that training and socialization was going to play a huge part in insuring success. He was, after all, going to be a very large dog (100-120 lbs as an adult) so I hired an obedience trainer and she came to our house once a week for private lessons. As I was doing what she instructed, I was thinking how much I would love to help others with their families, both human and canine. Training my Oscar went beautifully and I began to seriously consider working towards becoming a dog trainer. I was about 12 years into my military career so I had another 8 years to go!
Being in the military presented specific challenges and it was slow going. I volunteered at animal shelters both in the United States and overseas. I read as much information as I could get and upon returning from an overseas tour in 2009, I began my training with Animal Behavior College.
During my training, I completed an externship and have since helped many people add new canine members to their families and helped set them on the right path with reliable training methods. I would love the opportunity to help your family do the same.
…….And for our happily ever after, Oscar was a wonderful boy and a great companion to my son growing up and even though he has crossed the rainbow bridge, we think of him often. He was my best friend and I am truly a better person for having had his companionship. I wish the same happiness for all dogs and their people!

I have been working with dogs and their owners since 2006 and there is no better feeling than helping families build that relationship with their dogs. My mission is to help your family communicate effectively with your dog using positive methods that will help develop a strong bond based on love and respect.
